The Koko Head Shooting Complex is locatedon the east end of the island of Oahu. Located on the back side of Koko Crater and Botanical gardens, it is listed on some maps as Kahauloa Crater. The entrance is located half of one mile from the entrance to Hanauma BayTo get there from Downtown Honolulu, head east on H-1 continuing onto Kalanianaole Highway when the freeway ends. Continue on Kalanianaole Highway through Hawaii Kai. Drive up the hill and past Hanauma Bay. Once you pass Hanauma Bay you start on a downhill slope. You'll come to a sharp left hand turn followed by a pretty long straight away. About half way down this straight on the right is the Molokai Lookout. The Koko Head Shooting Complex entrance is just a stone's throw further on the left. There's a blue and white sign marking the entrance.For those coming from the Windward side, head on through Waimanalo, on Kalanianaole Highway. Pass Makai Pier, Sea Life Park and Makapuu. Continue past Queen's gate and Sandy Beach. You'll find it situated after the Halona Blow Hole and Submarine point but before the Molokai Lookout and Hanauma Bay on the mauka (mountain) side of Kalanianaole Highway. |
